The International Marrakech Award 2016 FOR COP22
It was established in 1998 on Mrs Fatima Alaoui initiative who is the secretary general of the movement “the Greens” for Morocco.
The International Marrakech Award rewards and pay tribute to human rights, cultural durable development, success stories in the fight for peace and dialogue between civilizations, conflict resolution and creation of green jobs.
The award is symbolized by a medal conceived by the great artist Larbi Belcadi representing the Koutoubia which makes Marrakech as famous and original as is la Giralda, Sevilla in Spain or the Hassan tower, Rabat; all theses monuments were edificated by our great ancestors.
The Koutoubia and the white head cover remain the symbol of the International Marrakech Award. This award is attributed to maintain alive the reputation of the city of Marrakech through centuries in Africa, Andalousia and throughout the world.
We attribute the award to those who have sacrified themselves and are our symbols for the fight for freedom, democracy and peace. The award has been dedicated to those who were fighting for a world of peace and justice.
NB : The International award of Marrakech in the field of political ecology and development of durable culture has


been awarded by Mrs Fatima Alaoui secretary general of the Greens Morocco to :
-     Lalla Fatima Zahra shot on the place Lalla Rkia in front of Mrs Aloui injured hemself at the age of 7 by the explosion of a bomb in front of the a girl school in the kasbah
-     Saida Menebhi, the martyr of Marrakech.
NB: The International Marrakech award has been attributed to her Majesty the Queen Sophia of Spain for all her actions in the field of research, communication and the human rights which bring closer cultures, civilizations and people in the region and around the word.

The International Marrakech award has been attributed to the General Manager of UNESCO for the new approach his organization has adopted in the field of art and creativity through melodies and musical tools of diverse cultures such as the orchestra for the dialogue between melodies for the peace and harmony worldwide. This orchestra could have a representation in the place Djemaa el Fnaa.

The International Marrakech award has been attributed to the international association dialogue between melodies whereby the orchestra issued from the association regroups musicians from around the world and who sing in favor of peace and harmony worldwide.
 

PS : This award has been attributed in 2004 to all entertainers of the place Jemaa El Fna in Marrakech : this place place classified as a humanity patrimoine oral or non oral by UNESCO. The award has been awarded in order to maintain and renew the daily show taking place in Jemaa El Fena of Marrakech .
The objective being to establish a dialogue based on cultural diversity which is a human wealth shared in order to bring closer the Marrakech creative genius to other civilizations and open our millenial culture to others by making known
Story telling, music, dance and henné drawing.
The daily challenge for all those on the field all year long is to bring joy and happiness by communicating our Marrakchi know how in bringing a good humor which facilitates the way we react with torments of the time passing by.

PS: The International Marrakech award has been attributed in past editions to :
-     Professor Wangari Mattei actual holder of Nobel Prize for peace ,
-     Ecologist Ingrid Bettencourt ,
-     House of slaves of Gorée in Sénégal ,
-     city of Tombouctou in Mali ,
-     traditional engineers of water, the KHettatrias of Marrakech etc....
